Goliath or Half-Giant Mummies

These are 8 toy Halloween Army Mummies I painted. For scale I put a few modern figures next to them, the Troll is a bit taller while they tower over the other more “man” sized figures.

Half-Giant, Verbeeg Giant, Goliath type Mummies!

First you will need to decide how these big guys fit in your setting but mummies are a classic and should be in at least one tomb the PCs disturb in their adventures. Next take a look at the Monster Manual for your version of D&D or other RPG. I have several editions of D&D so I pondered first what creature these might fit best. Honestly I think height wise they probably fit the 2E Dark Sun Half-Giant,  2E Giant, Verbeeg or the 3.5, 4E, 5E Goliath. The 2E Half-Giants are 10-12’ tall, the Verbeeg Giants are 81/2-10’ and 5E Goliath is 7-8’ tall. It does seem the game designers don’t like tall for PC races as what we could class as the “half-giant” under various names keeps getting shorter. Anyhow these mummies are definitely seem bigger than 8 feet but than again trolls are suppose to be 9 feet so maybe not. I did go check out tall humans in real life so these toy mummies work nicely for some place between 8-10 feet I think. I personally like the idea of 8-10 feet tall mummies, ancient dead Half-Giant Warriors and Warrior Kings. Next you will need to modify your generic mummy stats a bit unless you are using 4E as 4E has a plethora of mummies in it including a Giant Mummy. I am taking a look at the various mummy ideas in the various Monster Manuals. Mummy Rot for instance has always existed but has existed in both a fast form and a slow form from the early days of the game. I do like the slow version’s “cure” just stoping the PC dying while slowing their hit point recovery forever, and the permanent damage to abilities, I might work that back in. I love the idea of a victim of the touch turning to dust, that is a properly scary monster.  4E has some great ideas in it as well.

I also started working on a Mimic Outhouse…
