Ninja Apocalypse!

I know I have not been doing much sci-fi based post but OD&D always had a sci-fi cross over and when Gamma World came out we played that too. The truth is you can have your Apocalypse Setting for any theme. Is it radiation, biochemical weapons, or other technology that is the magic that warped the world, are they golems or robots? Are the great deep dungeons really ancient bunkers that now house fantasy races that are the result of being trapped underground for generations?

I present Ninja Apocalypse the movie, want Ninja Clans running around your modern wasteland setting with crazy mutant powers, want to consider an epic dungeon crawl through an inhabited government bunker meant to trap people forever in it, well they used the idea in this serriously B-Rate film. I give you fair warning if you choose to watch it. I love under appreciated films myself, sometimes they inspire other times they teach you not what to put into a plot line.
.

So for a Gamma World type setting this movie is set shortly after the Great War, so everyone knows what happened in general and works nicely, but in say an OD&D type setting this would be greatly misunderstood ancient history, in which races of intelligent beings came out of the bunkers to interact with survivors on the surface in a very feudal sort of world. Conversely the people on the surface would be delving into the dark mysterious places of the ancients deep underground to discover ancient magical powers. To explain the new reality folklore, myths and legends have replaced real science and real history. Fantasy terminology now conceals the super science which was actually done early on in OD&D. So Referees you can have your cake and pie too or rather zombies, mutants, Ninjas, fantasy races and it all if you so choose. You just got to think how it would work in your setting, how the people of your world would process the experiences. How would their culture  understand the world is the question that supplies lense with which to view the ancients.

Happy Gaming Folks.
