Converting Player Character Abilities:
I love Mutants, I love Space Aliens and I like mixing things up.
So first basic abilities:
Star Frontiers Mutant Future FrontierSpace
Feeble 30 3 35
Poor 35 4-5 40
Below Average 40 6-8 45
Average 45 9-12 50
Above Average 50 13-15 55
Good 55 16-17 60
Remarkable 60 18 65
Incredible 65 19 70
70 20 75
75 21 80
When converting Star Frontiers player characters to FrontierSpace add +5 to all abilities except STA. As FrontierSpace uses a different method to determine it's Body Points.
If converting the opposite direction -5 from all abilities except BP.
To convert STA to BP:
SRT/2 = BP
Therefore if converting Star Frontiers after adding your +5 to STR/2 to get Body Points and round up. To go the other direction -5 from STR and that result becomes the STA score.
But what about racial differences between the games? You could not worry about it or you could make the appropriate adjustments for example:
In Star Frontiers Humans get a +5 to one ability, while in FrontierSpace it is +5 to one, and -5 to another, thus if you convert from Star Frontiers to FrontierSpace you would need to -5 from one ability as the pre-existing StarFrontiers character has already received a +5 at it's creation.
In addition there is a great article in Issue 23 of Frontier Explorer for playing the Star Frontier setting using FrontierSpace. http://frontierexplorer.org/book/frontier-explorer-issue-23
