The Tiger Squirrel, FrontierSpace Star Probe, Episode 3 Season 2
The Tiger Squirrel
In our last episode Talon and Stella were being attacked by a Dire Bird flock: Stella screaming fell to the ground with the birds tearing into her already damaged backpack and shoulder. Talon turns and pulls out his blaster, but after the exploding floating spiny vermin of death he is reluctant to shoot. Stella's screams however make him commit to firing. The blast reflects off the targeted bird ricocheting around the flock and finally off into the distance. "Grozit!" curses Talon "They reflect beam weapons!" But the sudden explosion of light startled the birds giving Stella a chance to get up and run. "Run to the closest tree line! We will work towards each other!" Talon spun and dashed towards the trees closest to himself he could hear the birds guttural growls growing louder they were chasing him. Somehow he made it to the tree line. They were now separated not just from the rest of the expedition but each other and soon it would be pitch black in the alien forest. Stella looked around for a stick she desperately needed a weapon. Take the job they said it will be great for your career they said. The perfect modeling job being the new survival and recreational equipment babe for a major company. It will be fun getting images of the wildlife and safe they said! A great way to see exotic locations and get paid doing it. She cursed as she found a good stick she might be able to wack something with... she cursed her stupidity... she cursed the stick as she really just wanted the ability to order a nuclear strike on the planet from orbit! "Frak nature!" she yelled. Talon tried to work his way towards where he thought Stella had entered the jungle. Darkness seemed to suddenly be engulfing the jungle. There was no way they would find each other in this absolute blackness, did Stella even know how to make a fire he pondered as he rummaged through his damaged backpack for a way to make fire. Suddenly the jungle was alive with noise... Stella's hairs on the back of her neck stood up as the crescendo of sounds of unseen and unknown beasts echoed through the night... glowing eyes in the branches of a tree in front of her made her freeze, green glowing eyes of fire staring intently at her and then the roar and the streak of movement right at her! Talon could hear Stella's screams in the distance right after a roar that sounded to be a massive beast. Oh no what fresh horrors has she discovered! "Stella!" "Stella!" he screamed repeatably into the darkness as creatures whooped, roared, grunted and squawked over his yells...
